Frequently Asked Questions

What ages can attend Junior Yoga Camp?

Junior Yoga Camp is designed for ages 5–8 (co-ed). This age range allows children to feel safe, supported, and developmentally aligned while learning through play, movement, and connection.

Where is the camp located?

We spend our afternoons between the Arlington yoga studio, my central Arlington backyard, and nearby walkable nature spots — perfect for playful movement, outdoor exploration, and calming moments.

What does a typical day look like?

Each day includes playful yoga, calming breathwork, creative activities, group games, outdoor time, and lots of fun. Days are gently structured with a balance of movement, creativity, nature, and connection.

Does my child need yoga experience?

Not at all! Junior Yoga Camp is very beginner-friendly. Everything is taught through games, stories, and simple movements in a supportive, encouraging way.

Is the camp inclusive?

Yes. Junior Yoga Camp is intentionally designed to be warm, inclusive, and pressure-free, where every child feels welcome, respected, and supported.

What should my child bring?

A water bottle, snack, sunscreen, comfortable clothes for movement, and an open mind! Yoga mats are provided, but children are welcome to bring their own if they prefer.

Who leads the camp?

Camp is led by Louise, a certified 200-hour RYT yoga teacher, First Aid & CPR certified, and a mom of three. She has extensive experience working with young children, tweens, and teens in supportive group settings.

How big is the group?

Groups are kept small, typically 8–10 children, allowing for plenty of personal attention and a strong sense of safety and community.

What if my child is shy or nervous?

That’s very common at this age. Children are welcomed gently, given time to settle in, and supported through buddy systems and group activities. Many shy kids finish the week feeling more confident and comfortable.

What if my child is neurodiverse?

I have experience working with neurodiverse children and aim to create a flexible, supportive environment. I’m happy to schedule a quick call before camp so you can share anything that helps your child feel comfortable and thrive.

TESTIMONIALS

DANA, mom to Spencer (6)
Camper in 2022, 2023 & 2024

“Louise is one of the only teachers in my son’s six years of life to actually recognize his challenges and dig *all the way in* instead of looking for who to blame. She understood immediately his need for nervous system regulation and support for impulse control. She kept his body active and his spirit mindful. He felt seen and heard. After a disastrous free-for-all day camp experience that we had to leave, it was a huge relief to be able to help our son and see his smile at the end of the day. Thank you for helping us.”

SHEILA, mom to Kerry (8)
Camper from 2022 - 2025

Where to start! Louise has been a gift to us this year - her program has provided an invaluable resource for my daughter. She has created a space for her to learn and grow in ways that I simply did not have the tools (or the time ) to assist with. Louise’s program is something my daughter looks forward to, it is never forced and she comes home smiling every time.

JANICE, mom to Jasper & Alex
Campers from 2021 - 2025

My  kids came home sweaty, laughing, regulated & inspired. Every single day! This is simply something I could not give them. Sign us up for next year!
