Why choose yoga for your teen? Research shows that our teens’ mental health is in crisis.

 

Our teens are struggling. Even before the pandemic, it was shown that “feelings of sadness and hopelessness…increased by about 40% among young people and since 2020, this has only increased."

​

Yoga, mindfulness & meditation have been shown to help teens emotionally, physically & mentally. And thanks to some well known celebrities endorsing yoga & meditation (LeBron James, Ellie Goulding, Britney Spears, Lea Michele, Pink, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, and SO many more!) yoga is now becoming more popular and acceptable amongst teens.

Here are just a few of the benefits of yoga & mindfulness for teens:

I offer 2 types of Teen Yoga Classes to support your teens:

The Yoga For Female+ Teen Athletes class will blend mindfulness, yoga, stretching, conditioning, meditation, visualization, growth mindset & journaling. The class is designed for the teen who is focused, and who wants to stretch tight muscles, create an inner calm and have fun doing it! This class is a great choice for your off-season athlete to maintain conditioning, or your athlete who needs to build flexibility into their program.

Teen Yoga + Mindfulness is a blended class designed to help your high schooler slow down, breathe, and connect — with themselves and with friends. In this calm and creative class, we’ll explore meditation, breathwork, gentle yin-style yoga stretches, community projects, mindful coloring, and meaningful conversations. A space to rest, reset, and build community… with a little fun along the way.

Teen Yoga + Mindfulness (7-12)

Wednesday 4:30pm - 5:15pm (10 spots)

 

*yoga classes follow the APS calendar, so when APS schools are closed there is no class*
